Pastor Dwight is a humble man of God who has a passion for people. He desires to see families living together in harmony and empowers men to be servant leaders in their homes, in the community, and on their jobs. He has impacted the young and the old by preaching the unadulterated gospel of Jesus with boldness. He is known for teaching God’s Word in a fresh, practical and humorous way that always unveils Jesus.
Pastor Dwight was ordained as a minister in 1991 while serving under his father in law, Elder Thomas B. Gafford, Sr. at Spirit of Life COGIC in Farmville, Virginia. In 1992, Pastor Dwight and his family relocated to Greensboro, NC and joined Wells Memorial COGIC under the pastorate of Bishop Ithiel Clemmons. Bishop Clemmons served as his spiritual mentor and father until 1995. Since that time, Pastor Dwight has assisted many Pastors in Virginia, North Carolina, and Georgia, helping some of them in the inception of their churches. He graduated from Luther Rice Seminary in 2006 with a Bachelor of Religious Studies. In June, 2013, Pastor Dwight answered the call to pastor and was ordained an Elder by Pastors Ray and Sharon McQueen of Family Life Church in Lynchburg, VA. Pastor Dwight has been married to Co-Pastor DeAnna for over 20 years. They have three adult children, DeVonna, Darnell, Dwight Jr.(fiancé Cassie Milhous), and one grandson, Camden.
Co-Pastor DeAnna is equally passionate about empowering women who have experienced abuse and pain to experience complete healing through Jesus Christ. She is an accomplished musician and praise and worship leader. She holds a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Georgia. Co-Pastor DeAnna is also a strong advocate for the prevention of social injustices that impact our young people and an avid supporter of the Lupus Foundation.
